SPELD Manukau CityCarla is a 24 year old woman who spent all of her early childhood “not achieving”. By the age of 22 Carla had been in and out of employment and had had a total of 10 jobs. Wanting to help their daughter, Carla’s parents contacted the SPELD office and after an assessment by an independent educational psychologist, Carla was diagnosed to be severely dyslexic. 2 years on, Carla is enjoying success. Not only has she been able to “learn” with the assistance of her tutor, but she now has a steady job that she enjoys. |
