One youth who we have been working with has a history of making poor personal choices and suffering the consequences for that. The system expected that there would be a high likelihood that he would re-offend, but to date (2 months later) he has not, and has even begun attending school again after being in an alternative educational institution for about four months. We believe that without the consistent relationship with our youth worker, this young man would not be as empowered to make these small steps for change. |
