Thank You For Helping Christchurch

We are happy to share that we have received $21,200 in donations, to help restore the community, from the traumatic event of the Christchurch mosque shootings. United Way NZ appreciates the donors, volunteers and community charities for their support, they have came together when New Zealand needed them most.

Support needed for Christchurch

SENDING OUR LOVE TO THE VICTIMS OF THE CHRISTCHURCH MOSQUE SHOOTINGS

Fifty people have been killed and many people injured after a gunman stormed two Christchurch mosques in the worst terror attack on New Zealand soil.

We would like to extend our love, compassion and thoughts to all of the victims, all of their friends and all of their loved ones.

United Way New Zealand works closely with charities and community groups in Christchurch. These community groups, will help the families and communities directly affected by the fatal shootings with post traumatic support. 

If you would like to Unite with the people of Christchurch please donate here and you are welcome to leave a message for the victims and families who have been affected by this tragedy.

Shoebox Campaign a success with Kohler NZ

United Way NZ would like to thank the staff of Kohler NZ who put together boxes of presents, for children who would otherwise be going without this Christmas. Some of the presents included these special Englefield Yellow Ducks, especially for the younger children to have fun with. Thank you for Living United and caring for children in our community Kohler NZ.

United Way NZ is working with Budgeting & Family Support Services in Mangere, Otara & Tuakau, to distribute the presents to Children of families experiencing hardship this year in South Auckland.


185 Grant Applications received by United Way NZ

The United Way grants round for the 2018/2019 year have now closed. We have received 185 applications from throughout New Zealand. This gives us an indication of the good work being done in our communities and the need for funding by these groups. If you can help to donate to our regional funds you will contribute to giving back to your community helping those in need this Christmas. 

These grants go towards helping those who are helping communities all over Aotearoa New Zealand!

Thank you to UniCrew Volunteers

Thank you to UniCrew Volunteers who have done a fantastic job reading to our children at the Carisbrook School Reading Oasis programme, in Dunedin this year. 

The Reading Oasis programmes runs twice a week during term times and University of Otago student volunteers have been going to Caversham to share their love of reading with children.
