Charities are the backbone of our communities, especially when crisis strikes.

Results from the United Way NZ survey of over 205 nationwide charities, show that 95% of community charities have been directly affected by the COVID-19 outbreak and 74% of the charities are in need of additional finances so they can support their communities.

COVID-19 is starting to affect funding streams. Already with the closure of gaming venues, some gaming trusts will not be accepting funding applications for the foreseeable future and donations are declining.

It is imperative that the Government, businesses and donors continue to provide funds and resources to ensure non-profits can retain their staff, provide services and effective relief as COVID-19 continues to impact people in our communities.

United Way (NZ) are working to advocate and obtain additional support for charities around New Zealand and this is where we need your help.

We are all in this together, Kia kaha.
